Justin's new game
As you can see it is a very safe game...he spins until he can't stand up..he managed to avoid hitting his head..this time.

Halloween Weekend
Justin had his Halloween party at daycare on Friday. They took the kids trick-or-treating through the church that is connected to the daycare. I was in DC but Dave was able to go and get some photos. Justin didn't look thrilled.
We carved our pumpkin today - finally. It doesn't look great- but oh well!
Tonight was our Light the Night Walk for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Thanks to everyone who donated! Our firm won the law firm challenge- raising over $30,000!
We may or may not go trick-or-treating tomorrow. It depends on what time I can get out of work and what mood Justin is in...if we get home early and he's up for it - we may hit up a few houses nearby!

Mommy's Helper
Dave has been wanting pumpkin bread- and we finally had all of the ingredients so I tried to make it after dinner- but some little boy does not enjoy it when mommy ignores him - so he became my little helper. We left our mess for Daddy to clean up - :)
That was fun - can we do it again?! |

Haircut Weekend
We had a fairly uneventful weekend - except for the haircut. Saturday morning I taught Justin new words - like Football, Defense and Touchdown. I may have scared him when Marvin McNutt broke the TD record..but overall I had fun the first half getting him all excited about football. He gets all excited when I say Go Hawks. Maybe by November we can get him to say it..
After his nap I decided it was time to go get him a haircut. It is an awful process- he screams the whole time. We tried a new place- that's very kid friendly. He liked the waiting area- but went nuts when I tried to sit him in the chair. These chairs have straps...so he got his haircut whether he liked it or not! Afterwards we had some ice cream - doing my best to associate haircuts with good things- :)
This morning we went back to the arboretum with my friend Brittney - it was soggy out there but he loves running around. He could mostly be seen running away from us- chasing squirrels:
This afternoon we spent in the back yard - mowing, playing with rocks and the dump truck. I'm so glad we get to spend so much time outside now!

Beautiful October Weekend
We are absolutely loving this weather and spending as much time as possible outside. We visited the arboretum today - they do a wonderful job with their pumpkin village. Justin ran in circles checking out all of the pumpkins - and trying to lift the big ones up. We bought a membership while we were there today- and hope to put it to good use! It's much more fun now that Justin can run around!
Lots of folks were out there taking Halloween photos as well as family photos. We ran in to one of Justin's daycare friends while we were there..what a sad little longhorn..couldn't resist sharing.
State Fair!
We spent a couple of hours at the Texas State Fair this week. Our friends Darren and Kelly joined us on our tour through the barns and a visit to the petting zoo. We ate yummy fried fair food and had a nice little night. Justin loved the animals - and was able to get up close and personal with a heifer in the cattle barn.

A Few More Weekend Photos
Here are a few more pics from this weekend! We spent a lot of time outside on Saturday and Saturday evening Connie joined us for the daycare party at the zoo. Justin loved the "stream" they have in the kiddie zoo. Today we met the Madsen's for breakfast and then went to the farmer's market (where we bought Justin-sized pumpkins) and then we had more outdoor time before we took Connie to the airport. When we got back we spent the rest of the afternoon outside too- it's just so perfect out!
I went and bought Justin a few trucks for outside- and I'm looking forward to spending much more time outdoors that we were able to this summer. We also met the new neighbors this weekend. A couple and their 10 month old boy just moved in next door. I'm excited to have another little one right next door!
Mom - this one is so heavy! |

Weekend Update
Justin has been doing really well this week. He went back to daycare on Thursday and his tummy doesn't seem to bother him at all. It's a little bruised and still has some healing to do - but all is going well at this point! Connie is in town this weekend and she's going to go to the Daycare party at the zoo with us tonight - Daddy is out of town watching the Phillies and the Eagles this weekend.
Here is some video from our morning. He kept hitting this thing until it played the song he wanted and then acted crazy when it came on. He did this over and over and over. You'll see the video here is long and that's just a fraction. What was even better was when I played the video for him on the computer- he was cracking up and dancing crazy all over again!

He has not been the best sleeper the last couple of nights. I've been being nice about it since he had surgery this week...but that's only going to last another couple of days and then he's going to have to scream himself back to sleep!
